WBNA - Marine Construction Activities
WBNA's first contract was with Thiess Marine on the DLNG Load-Out Jetty Construction Project and for the forseeable future we will continue to chase work in this field, whether it be on a "dry hire" of vessels or a charter of vessels and crew basis to complete a project.
In the case of "dry hire" we stand by our equipment by taking responsibility for it while it is on a site carrying out a project. With WBNA there will be no such thing as "dump and run" then just send the bills. WBNA is happy to send its engineering crew to site to repair unforseen breakdowns; and therefore ensure the equipment availability to the client.
In the case of Charter, we stand by our equipment and carefully select our crews to carry out projects. The result is that the client gets a flexible hard working contractor with a good attitude to safety, and one that is not frightened to be productive and therefore assist the client to meet its project timeline.
Some of our previous and current marine construction / demolition clients are as follows;
- Thiess Marine - DLNG Load Out Jetty Construction Project - Darwin
- Bechtel - DLNG Load Out Jetty Construction Project - Darwin
- CMA Corp (Marine Infrastructure Demolition) - BHP Marine Works Project - Port Hedland

WBNA - Marine Maintenance Activities
WBNA currently carries out several 'in- harbour' maintenance activities for a number of clients, and we are steadily gearing up to be in a postion to carry out more varied marine maintenance tasks across the top of Australia.
Due to other contractual commitments WBNA currently has workboats and crew on Darwin Harbour 24 hrs a day - 7 days a week. Therfore WBNA can deliver a service / complete a maintenance task for a prospective client at reasonably short notice around the clock if required, utilizing equipment and crew that is used to being available round the clock (in Darwin Harbour specifically).
Some of the marine maintenance tasks that we have been involved in are as follows;
- Change-out of wharf pile anodes for cathodic protection
- Installation of wharf pile anodes for cathodic protection
- Removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation of moorings
- Remote Light House maintenance where access by sea is the most productive
- Removal and tow in of navigational aids due for service / refurbishment
- Tow out and reinstallation of navigational aids that have been serviced / refurbished
- Marine infrastrucure cleaning and preparation for painting
- Wharf services supply infrastructure maintenance / change-out
- In water maintenance / hydrotesting of Condensate Off-Take Hose Strings

Marine Logistics Support
Marine logistics support is an area that keeps WBNA busy throughout the year. As a part of ongoing contractual commitments WBNA carries out multiple logistics support activities some of which are as follows;
- Marine pick up, and disposal of quarantine waste to the appropriate certified organization from Australian Customs ACV's and Naval Warships
- Marine pick up, and disposal of normal waste to the appropriate location from Australian Customs ACV's and Naval Warships
- Marine Removal and disposal of "Ghost Nets" from private and government organizations
- Marine delivery of fluids, equipment, and dry and wet stores to passing vessels without the time to go alongside port infrastructure
- Marine Crew and Vessels to carry out marine caretaking of vessels / ships
- Tow of broken down vessels
Again, due to the fact that we are currently on the water 24hrs a day - 7 days a week in Darwin Harbour we can assist with projects that have to happen at short notice, as well as those projects that have a longer lead time for careful planning.
WBNA will continue to make itself available to prospective clients to carry out marine logistics support tasks, and we will look forward to being involved in the interesting and varied projects that generally come under this catergory of work.
